WARNING: SPOILERS

Hello, hello, hello my duckies! Happy Thursday to all! Have you entered the MEGA EXCLUSIVE THE NIGHT ITSELF GIVEAWAY YET? If not, get on that right now - you only have until Monday.

Onto other stuff! A small number of The Night Itself proofs are currently with some lovely author people who are reading it in hopes that, if they like it, they might offer up blurbs. You know, those little lines that appear on a book cover or on the book's listing on Amazon, or on press releases. Well, two of the lovely authors have now come back with wonderful blurbs for The Night Itself. Here they are:
"A beautiful, awe-inspiring ride through an iconic London landscape harbouring extremely dangerous secrets. The Night Itself is a fantastic blend of Japanese folk tale and 21st century thriller, populated by characters you will be rooting for at every breathless step." -- Katy Moran, author of Bloodlines and Hidden Among Us
"Japanese mythology meets urban awesomeness (and a swoon-worthy romance!). The Night Itself captivated me." -- L.A. Weatherly, author of Angel and Angel Fire
" I fell in love with sassy, courageous, wise-cracking Mio from page one." -- Ruth Warburton, author of A Witch in Winter and A Witch in Love.
I'm so happy that three such *wonderful* authors liked my book and decided to endorse it this way! So, to celebrate, I thought I would give you some The Night Itself SPOILERS.

Well, not proper spoilers. Just the chapter titles for the book - inspired by Cassandra Clare's recent reveal of the chapter titles for Clockwork Princess (OMG, out in FIVE DAYS, I cannot WAIT, eeeeiii!).

The Night Itself was the first book where I actually used chapter titles instead of just chapter numbering, and I had a lot of fun coming up with tangential puns which probably no one but me will think are funny. They don't reveal as much as they might seem to, perhaps... but they do reveal a bit. So if you're very spoiler averse, avert your eyes now.

113 days too many! I can't wait to read it, and I love the chapter titles :D

Amy: I agree completely! I'm really ready for this to be out now. Roll on July.

Ah, I am a big fan of naming chapters! I find it helps with the whole shaping of a novel when you see them all in a list like that. I think I like 'The Boy with the Sky in his Eyes' best.

Laura: That's one of my favourites too. What's funny is that I think they've all stayed the same right from the first draft - except that I changed 'Down the Rabbit Hole' to 'Through the Looking Glass'. But hopefully some of these will make you smile if you read the book.

Really really REALLY excited for the release :D I love the Alice in Wonderland reference; something that seems to be cropping up a lot, lately, ever since I read Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams (very good book!). Captain Corelli's Mandolin keeps appearing everywhere, too.
I love chapter titles. Whenever I write they're the first things I come up with, and I find them a massive help because otherwise I go off track and write loads of unnecessary stuff.
Sorry, I'm rambling a bit (about to go dye my hair red for red nose day and am a little nervous, not helped by the fact that I just realised the hair dye is permanent).
Cannot wait for The Night Itself! Those 113 days won't pass fast enough.

Cherie: There's a running theme of literary references in the book, but I'm keeping them subtle - I hope that some people will notice and get a laugh out of them. I'm sure your newly dyed hair will be gorgeous. Good luck!

Hi, Zoe!

I'm SO excited about this book!! I LOVE the plot, and that cover...LUSCIOUS. In fact, I have just featured a post about the cover, on my Saturday meme/hop, "Shelf Candy Saturday". It's on my blog, "A Night's Dream of Books", up today, 3/16/13.

The only one of your books I've read so far is "The Swan Kingdom", which I ADORED, and reviewed on my blog. I also featured the cover on one of my SCS posts.

I hope to read more of your books in the future!! And I've just become a follower of your blog!! :)

Isabel: Oops, I seem to have missed you there. Thanks, hun :)

Maria: Thank you very much! I'll RT that if I can find it.
